Air France boosts African services
Air France has launched a new route to Dar es Salaam, making it the carrier’s second flight to Tanzania. The Dar es Salaam flight, which will be an extension of the Zanzibar service, will operate three times a week, using a Boeing 787-9 aircraft with 30 seats in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 225 in economy. Flight AF876 departs from Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 10h20 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Zanzibar at 20h15. The flight departs Zanzibar at 22h20 and arrives in Dar es Salaam at 22h45. The return flight departs Dar es Salaam at 23h50 on the same days, and arrives at Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 07h55 the following day.

LAM reinstates Lusaka flights after 30-plus years
Mozambique’s national carrier, LAM, has announced the resumption of flights to Lusaka, a route it had ceased serving over 30 years ago. Since June 30, LAM operates flights to Lusaka three times a week, on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. LAM deploys an Embraer ERJ145 on the route. Flight TM354 departs from Maputo at 12h30, arriving in Harare at 14h05 before departing at 14h45 to arrive in Lusaka at 15h50. Return flight TM355 departs Lusaka at 16h30, arrive in Harare at 17h35 then depart for Maputo at 18h15. The arrival time in Maputo is 19h50.

Airlink increases JNB/Vilanculos services
Independent regional carrier, Airlink, will increase return flights between Johannesburg and Vilanculos, Mozambique, to 11 a week from January 8 next year. Airlink currently operates a daily service on the route. The decision to add another flight every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday is in response to increased demand for direct services to the popular Indian Ocean coastal resort. Airlink deploys its Embraer E-Jets and Regional Jets on the route.

FlyCemAir confirms launch of JNB-VFA service
South African private carrier FlyCemAir has announced the launch of its latest regional route, with a service between Johannesburg and Victoria Falls, set to start on August 9. The flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The schedule is as follows: - JNB to VFA: Departing 11h20 and landing at 13h00
- VFA to JNB: Departing at 13h30 and landing at 15h10

SAA launches São Paulo route
South African Airways has announced its first intercontinental route since its return to the skies in September 2021. The carrier will start flights to São Paulo, Brazil, from both Johannesburg and Cape Town. The airline will kick off the flights from Cape Town on October 31, while the Johannesburg-São Paulo service will commence on November 6.

Bonjour to seasonal CT-Paris flights
Air France will start three flights a week between Paris and Cape Town for the upcoming European winter season, starting from October 17 and continuing until March 27, 2024. The route will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. AF864 departs CDG at 10h10 and arrives in CPT at 21h20. AF871 departs CPT at 23h35 and arrives in CDG at 11h20 the following morning. The flights will be operated by a Boeing Dreamliner 787-900.
